Presenter: Peter Altschul, BPI Expert
Peter Altschul obtained his BA from Princeton University and his MS in Social Work-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. His prior assignments include developing a "Reverse Mentoring Program" for Reuters America.
During the four years of the program, 47 employees of diverse backgrounds served as mentors to 47 Reuters America senior managers. Each mentor was responsible for playing a leadership role in scheduling meetings, choosing the topic pertaining to diversity, and leading the discussion.
This program reversed the standard mentoring relationship: instead of more senior employees mentoring more junior staff, lower-level employees throughout the organization mentored senior managers, focusing on diversity management and culture change.
